El-P of Run The Jewels and Queens of the Stone Age have nothing but good things to say about the unofficial LP El-Q.

Unexpected Collaboration

The album, which was created by ToTom and released last month, combines the vocals of Josh Homme with the music of EL-P, Killer Mike, and their rap duo Run The Jewels.

On Twitter, El-P himself acknowledge the record and hailed it as "kind of awesome." Queens of the Stone Age, too, said that the LP was on fire.

Fans were equally as impressed by the unexpected marriage of rock and hip-hop. One Twitter user declared that a collaboration between Homme and Run The Jewels would be his personal heaven. While the two artists never worked together before, El-Q is probably the closest to a team-up that fans will ever witness.

For those who want to hear El-P and Killer Mike's words laid on top of a Queens of the Stone Age music, ToTom also remixed "Legend Has It," and "Tangle Up in Plaid."

The most recent album of Run The Jewels was their 2016 release, Run The Jewels 3. The hip-hop duo is set to headline a number of music festivals this summer including an Adult Swim event in Los Angeles on Oct. 6 and 7.

Meanwhile, Queens of Stone Age recently announced its Eden Sessions in Cornwall. The annual outdoor event will also see live performances from Massive Attack, Gary Barlow, and more.

The artist also remixed Run The Jewels with DJ Shadow and Arctic Monkeys to create "Nobody Picks Teddy."

Aside from these awesome mash-ups, Run The Jewels can cross genres and still sound amazing through a remix of "Supercut," the lead single from Lorde's new album Melodrama. El-P was responsible for the rework.

The hip-hop duo went on tour with New Zealand born pop star this year to promote her Grammy-nominated new album.

"At first I was like, 'I don't know if I have an idea for this,'" El-P explained about his rework of the song. "But I slowed it down a bit and started playing around with it, and all of a sudden this dark, funky sort of thing came out of it. You can look at lyrics a lot of different ways, but the production of the music around the lyrics is what gives you the context."
