In an interview with the "Rap Radar Podcast," The Game responded to a question everyone has been wondering since the release of his diss track towards Eminem.

When asked "what was the reason for going at Eminem?" He responded, "just because nobody does."

'Not Personal'

The Game clarified that it was not personal and that he has been awed with "My Name Is," Eminem's 2018 release. "It's not personal," he said."I came up on Em, too. I remember the first time that 'My Name Is' came out. I was 'whoa-ed' by it. I felt the same feeling when I heard that, that I felt when I heard 'Juicy' from B.I.G. the first time. I always f*cked with Em."

He also claimed that when he had a falling out with 50 Cent, his former G-Unit member, Eminem "chose" to side with 50 Cent. "Hip-hop gotta be interesting," he continued.

"These n***as these days are so goddamn boring." "Every time somebody want to beef, somebody gotta die. Sometimes, ladies and gentlemen, it's just hip-hop and you can just leave it at that. [sic]"

Beef-Fueled Call-Outs?

When The Game released his highly- anticipated album "Drillmatic Heart Vs. Mind," fans were already expecting a lot of call-outs and name drops in the album. The album boasts 30 tracks, including the infamous "The Black Slim Shady," which is about 10 minutes long.

Fans speculated that the beef between The Game and Eminem hit a breaking point when the former commented on a picture of Eminem's daughter, Hailie Jade, wearing a bikini. When "Drillmatic Heart Vs. Mind" came out, some people pointed out that the 42-year-old rapper enjoyed name-dropping a little too much.

"One thing I forgot to do on the album when I put out the tracklisting, I was literally going to count the name drops myself and put a disclaimer, like, 'Just so you know, there are 377 name drops on this album," he joked.

However, he defended himself by adding that name-dropping is part of the music, and he is not the first to do so. "It's wordplay, it's lyricism, it's metaphors, and everybody has adapted to it. I'm the one that gets all the flak for it but I love it," he said.

"Like, I be saying n***as names. I want you to know exactly what I'm talking about, right?"

Fans React

Some people on the Internet scoffed at The Game addressing the alleged beef between him and Eminem, with one tweeting: "Makes sense for the icon Eminem to beef with a rapper who hasn't mattered in 16 years." "No thanks. He's clout chasing it's obvious," another tweeted. While there are those who were clearly against The Game's statements, others agreed with his sentiments.

"Love this. 'Black Slim Shady' was an extremely creative, original, and direct type of diss song, but it never felt malicious. Always felt like it was coming from more of an admiration or friendly competition standpoint. Still don't think it's a great song per se, but I respect it," another tweeted.
