"Goo Goo Muck" was a big hit during the 80s, but it recently rose to fame again thanks to the hit Netflix series "Wednesday."

According to Grunge, the track was used during a specific scene where Jenna Ortega's character improvised her dance moves in a creepy manner during a school event.

The resurgence of the track was similar to Kate Bush's 1985 track "Running Up That Hill" after it was featured on the series "Stranger Things."

'Goo Goo Muck' Meaning

Although the version of The Cramps was the one used in the show, the outlet noted that the band wasn't the original singer of the hit song.

Released in the early 80s, the track was a success but it wasn't really an original hit by the band, but rather a cover version.

Louder Sound reported that the original version of it was released during the 60s by the band Ronnie Cook & The Gaylads.

Both versions almost have the same sound and some of the lyrics were changed in the newer one, but both of them revolve around the story of young teenagers wandering through a town late at night to cause chaos.

The Cramps' version added a little hint of sexual connotation and it was included in their album "Psychedelic Jungle."

It became a massive success for their fans but not to the public in general. At the time, they were considered an underground band and neither versions of the song\ even hit the Top 40 charts, until the release of "Wednesday."

Other Song That Became Famous Because of 'Wednesday'

Although the original song that the show used was "Goo Goo Muck," Lady Gaga's 2011 song "Bloody Mary" also became a massive hit as many fans used the audio to use Jenna Ortega's dance moves on TikTok and other social media platforms.

In early reports, Mother Monster's track, which is from her album "Born This Way," became the number one most Shazamed song in the world.

It is also now Lady Gaga's number-one song on her Spotify profile with over 103,845,500 streams as of this writing.

The Oscar Award-winning singer has also joined the trend by posting her dance cover on TikTok with a black and white filter along with her gothic outfit.

The short clip now has a whopping 9.4 million views on the platform.
