R&B fans are rocked by the ongoing drama between Babyface and Anita Baker. Earlier this month, the latter removed the former from her "The Songstress" Tour as a support/opening act, following a very public spat with Babyface's followers, and allegedly with him too.

Baker has expressed on social media that she has been bullied for keeping the R&B icon from performing in a concert in New Jersey because of time constraints.

Babyface Admits True Feelings Toward Anita Baker

In a new interview on The Jason Lee Show, Babyface bared it all and gave his honest thoughts following Baker's sudden removal of him on the new lineup for "The Songstress" tour.

"Well, that was a complicated evening," Babyface recalled. "First of all, I have no problem being a support act for Anita Baker. I have much love and respect for her art. And it was her show."

In a concert at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey in May 2023, Babyface was supposed to open Anita Baker's concert stop. However, because of time constraints, he was asked to cancel the performance, to give way for the main act.

However, fans were not having it as they slammed Baker for her alleged diva behaviour and criticized her for not letting Babyface perform on their "co-headlining" tour. Baker was swarmed with haters on social media, to which she confirmed that it was not a "co-headlining" tour but instead, Babyface was a support act.

"When A friend, is being attacked, by Your friends?... because, of Mis-information/fake news And, You have an Opportunity, to Say Something/Correct it?... It's A Nice, thing.... It's the Right thing to do. Reputation, Peace & Safety Matters," she said.

Days after, she announced that Babyface will no longer be part of the tour.

"I have no issue with that. I think that I was looking as forward to watching Anita Baker every night as well because I love her as a writer and as an artist. It's a beautiful experience," he told Lee on the show.

Graciously, Babyface accepted the abrupt removal of "The Songstress" Tour. Elsewhere in the show, he even revealed that he's cooking something up - a Babyface Tour!
