Belinda Carlisle Bio 

Belinda Jo Carlisle was born on August 17, 1958 in Los Angeles, California to a home maker and a gas station employee. Belinda's teen mother named her daughter after the former's favorite movie, 1948's Johnny Belinda. After Belinda's mother was remarried, the Carlisle family moved around multiple places out and about in California, as per All Music. 

At a young age, Belinda showed interest in the music of bands like, the Beach Boys, the Animals, and the Stylistics , when she was 10 years old. Belinda was a cheerleader at Newbury Park High School. Carlisle was a rebel teen in her youth, as she ran away from home, and tried taking drugs. After high school, Belinda took night classes at a beauty school for one year, prior to dropping out and moving out of home to embark on pursuing a music career. 

How Belinda Carlisle Started Her Music Career 

Belinda acted on her goal to succeed in pursuing a music career by forming, and being a vocalist of a group called Misfits in 1978. In addition to Carlisle, Misfits composed of Jane Wiedlin (guitar, vocals), Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar, keyboards), Margot Olaverra (bass), and Elissa Bello (drums). The band changed their name to the Go-Go's not too long afterward, and played at local parties and clubs in Los Angeles. By May 1985, though, the Go-Go's disbanded for good. 

Belinda became the most successful solo artist to had come out of the Go-Go's. 

Belinda Carlisle Legendary Hits, Accomplishments, and Accolades 

Belinda reached the number 13 spot on the US album chart in 1986, with her first LP, the adult, pop-styled material, "Belinda." "Mad About You" was the number three hit single from the said LP, and thereafter, went gold. In 1987, Belinda released her sophomore album, "Heaven on Earth." This album featured the hits, "Heaven is a Place on Earth," the number two hit single, "I Get Weak," and the top ten hit ballad song called, "Circle in the Sand." The following year, "Heaven is a Place on Earth" got a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. 

In January 2020, a documentary about the Go-Go's simply called, "The Go-Go's" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The documentary was accompanied by the song, "Club Zero." The Go-Go's were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on October 2021, and a celebration from the group was held with another tour being embarked. 

Belinda Carlisle on Tour in Las Vegas 2023 

Belinda's 2023 summer tour is called "Decades". As per 963KKLZ, Belinda's "Decades" tour started to commence on July 1st in Georgia. Belinda is continuing on her tour nationwide with a live performance in Las Vegas this month, on August 22, 2023, at the House of Blues.
