Billboard Latin Music Awards 2023 Highlights: Karol G, Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma Earn Major Wins [DETAILS]

2023 is a huge year for Latin music and artists!

According to reports, Karol G was one of the biggest stars in the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2023, bringing home a whopping five awards, including the prestigious Spirit of Hope honor.

"This is probably one of the most special awards I've ever received in my entire career," the Colombian artist said during her acceptance speech.

"One of the reasons why it is nice and special to participate in these movements is that it gives us the possibility of receiving help from companies that seek us out around the world to support great projects of which you are also a part, because what we do in tickets, in record sales, we also direct it to the foundation," she continued, referring to her philanthropic work with Con Cora Foundation.

What makes the Spirit of Hope Award more special is that it was first received by one of the legendary Latina artists in music history, Selena Quintanilla.

Peso Pluma Wins Nine Billboard Latin Music Awards

Peso Pluma was one of the artists with the most nominations at the Billboard Latin Music Awards; he won nine of the 21 he was nominated for, reports say.

The Mexican artist won New Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year for "Ella Baila Sola" with Eslabon Armando, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male, Streaming Song of the Year, Regional Mexican Artist of the Year, Solo, Regional Mexican Song of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year.

Peso Pluma earned his massive breakthrough in 2022 with the release of "El Belicon," which became his first song on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

Since then, it seems like the artist has gone nowhere but up. His song "AMG" climbed the Mexico Songs Chart and even ranked at No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bad Bunny Ends Hiatus?

Late last year, Bad Bunny announced that he would be taking a break from music in 2023. However, since then, the hitmaker has released a handful of songs.

Bad Bunny won Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, Sales Song of the Year with "Titi Me Pregunto,",​​Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Male, Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year, Solo, and Latin Rhythm Song of the Year.
