Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are two of the most powerful women in the music industry, if not in the world, today. On the internet, their fans have always wanted to prove that the other is better and more successful than the other.

While healthy competition is a must to keep artists on edge and at their A-Game, pitting two successful women together who excel on their own paths is unproductive.

Taylor Swift Raves About Beyoncé Friendship

In an interview for the TIME Magazine 2023 Person of the Year cover story, Taylor Swift describes Beyoncé as "the most precious gem of a person," and "warm and open and funny."

"And she's such a great disrupter of music-industry norms. She taught every artist how to flip the table and challenge archaic business practices," she added.

Both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé trekked the United States this year in their record-breaking tours, "The Eras" Tour and "Renaissance" Tour. Both of their concert films raked in millions on screenings domestically and internationally.

Over on Twitter, the comparisons between the two different tours have reached a fever pitch, with some fans comparing sold-out stadiums with one another, their cultural impact, and even the economic result of each concert to the host city.

"There were so many stadium tours this summer, but the only ones that were compared were me and Beyoncé," she pointed out to the publication. "Clearly it's very lucrative for the media and stan culture to pit two women against each other, even when those two artists in question refuse to participate in that discussion."

To give each other their very best support, both of them appeared on the respective red-carpet premieres of their concert films.

Beyoncé surprised everyone when she arrived at the Los Angeles premiere of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," while Swift came with Blake Lively and others to Bey's London premiere of "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé."

Lively even wrote on Instagram a similar point, saying "When I grew up, women were always pit against one another... @beyonce and @taylorswift neither of you have to be threatened by my pop stardom. There's space for us all."

Taylor Swift, Beyoncé Friendship

Swift and Beyoncé's friendship is rooted back to the infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Kanye West infamously stole the show and disrespected Taylor Swift as she received the award for Best Female Video at the time for "You Belong With Me," saying Beyoncé deserved that award for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)."

When Beyoncé received the Video of the Year award, she invited Swift onstage to let her finish her speech, forging a bond between the two that would last years.
