Although details of Eurovision Caribbean are still fuzzy, the organizers have confirmed that details are to be announced soon.

However, this did not stop fans of the famous European song contest from complaining online.

"So i was scrolling through TikTok, when suddenly, Eurovision *out of the blue* announced the Caribbean is joining the party, i was like," a user said.

"there will very obviously not be a caribbean country participating at eurovision. it will be some kind of sponsor announcement. all of you stop being silly," someone tweeted.

"All this hype and it's just gonna be an announcement that Royal Caribbean Cruises are going to be a new Eurovision sponsor," another echoed.

On social media, fans are speculating four things - One, it might actually be The Caribbean Islands is represented by an artist to join the competition. Second, it could only be a partnership between Eurovision and the Royal Caribbean Cruise. Third, it could be that the EBU has struck up a deal with the Caribbean Islands to exclusively broadcast the show in the region. Lastly, a Caribbean artist might be performing as an interval act for the show.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has chosen Olly Alexander as their participant for this year following Mae Muller's disappointing finish last year.

"I've loved watching Eurovision ever since I was a little kid and I'm beyond excited to be taking part next year," he announced at the time. (via Variety) "As a young boy I always looked forward to this incredible event of unbridled joy, the wonderfully chaotic mix of musical styles, theatrical performances, heartfelt emotion and humour."

According to Alexander, he could not believe that he would be part of a "special legacy" of flying the flag of the United Kingdom in the "gayest way possible."

"I've wanted to do this for a long time and it feels like the right moment to start releasing music under my own name. I'm determined to give it everything I've got and put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all," he continued.
