Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor passed away on Tuesday due to natural causes, according to the coroner. While it was never hinted that her death was suspicious, it was still too sudden and the real cause had to be determined.

After her 17-year-old son passed away, the singer of "Nothing Compares 2 U" canceled all of her concerts to attend to "her own health."

However, the world was shocked when it was announced that she passed away in July, a few days later. She was 56 years old.

"This is to confirm that Ms. O'Connor passed away due to natural causes," a Southwark Coroners Court representative informed the Daily Mail.

After this confirmation, the representative said that the coroner's involvement in her death has ended.

Back in July 2023, the singer of "Nothing Compares 2 U" was discovered "unresponsive" in a London residence, and according to the police, they were notified of an emergency via phone about it.

O'Connor was "pronounced dead at the scene," but according to the Metropolitan Police, "her death is not being treated as suspicious" because no foul play was suspected.

At the time, it was said that it will take "several weeks" for the results of the autopsy to be completed in order to ascertain the reason of her death. But weeks turned into months.

Her family acknowledged in a statement that it is with great sadness that their Sinéad has truly passed. Back then, her friends and family are inconsolable and have asked for privacy during this extremely trying time.

O'Connor revealed in one last tweet, one week before she passed herself, that she had felt "lost" ever since her 17-year-old son Shane committed suicide in January 2022. She said that since the tragedy, she has been living as an undead night creature. She described her son as her soul's light and the love of her life.

She also revealed that the only person who had ever shown her absolute affection was him. O'Connor had other children though.

O'Connor made her final public appearance in March at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, when she won the Best Irish Classic Album award while looking content and well. In remembrance of the 1990 song "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got," the trophy was presented.

Her three other children, son Yeshua, 16, daughter Roisin, 27, and son Jake, 36, survive her.
