  • 'Frozen' soundtrack holds off Grammy performers Lorde, Beyoncé, Imagine Dragons on Billboard 200

Although the Grammys concluded more than a week ago, the final effects of the ceremony on album sales are best seen in this week's Billboard 200. Indeed, seven of the albums in the Top 10 this week were involved in the program, with a few owing their spots this week to their Grammy performances.

A more touching spectacle took place during the in memoriam segment--initiated by the first few bars of Lang Lang's Tchaik--despite misspelling Corey Monteith's name and excluding other revered names.
  • Daft Punk, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar see huge upticks in Spotify streams following Grammys

Album and download sales are down. Everyone knows this. The number of viewers taking on the Grammys even year continues to rise however, most likely because they're on television, and the populace just can't handle things they can't see. Either way, musicians that are already pretty popular from a musical perspective see huge increases in activity following The Grammys' broadcast, at least according to numbers released by Spotify.
  • Daft Punk and Lorde carry pop music flag at Grammys with 'Get Lucky' and 'Royals'

Two acts dominated the pop categories at the 2014 Grammys, and they weren't necessarily the ones you expected. The best-selling single of the year, "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke, couldn't grab a trophy despite three nominations. The best-selling album of the year, The 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake, took home Best R&B Performance for "Pusher Love Girl" but fell flat for both of its Pop genre nominations. Daft Punk and Lorde weren't exactly surprise winners, but they ended the night the most decorated of the pop artists in attendance.

  • Daft Punk to wear 'Star Wars' stormtrooper helmets for 2014 Grammys performance

We've all been wondering what Daft Punk will do for an acceptance speech if they win a Grammy. Ya know, with those helmets and what not. We've now come to find that the duo will be sporting Star Wars stormtrooper helmets, instead of their signature robot headgear, when they hit the stage to perform with Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams and Nile Rogers. According to a source, the masks look to be from The Empire Strikes Back era and also appear to be authentic.

  • For Better or Worse, Village Voice's Pazz+Jop Rank the Top Albums and Singles of 2013 [POLL]

While many argue the merits of the long-suffering publication as well as the results therein--hey, the lot of us feel the same way about the Grammys--the Voice's P+J issue (conceived of by disgraced music editor, Bob Xgau) is about as consensus as we're likely to get these days.
  • Daft Punk, Mumford & Sons top year end vinyl sales charts

Every news service has been eager to tell you that vinyl sales continued to show huge gains, even as CD sales and digital music sales slumped in the United States. Sales of the 12" format increased by 32 percent, jumping from about 4.5 million in sales during 2012 to 6 million units moved during 2013. One piece of information not being shared as readily: What performers are dominating the vinyl resurgence? Nielsen Soundscan recently released its list of the Top 10 bestselling vinyl records of 2013.
  • UK vinyl sales exploded in 2013, Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk at top

It was a "record" breaking year for vinyl sales in the UK. Or at least the highest it's been since 1997 when 817,000 records were sold, The Telegraph reports. Data from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the Official Charts Company show 780,000 vinyl albums were sold. Topping the sales was Arctic Monkeys' AM and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories.
  • Daft Punk will perform at the Grammys with drummer Omar Hakim, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder

It was already an exciting announcement that Daft Punk would be performing at the 2014 Grammy Awards, but now it seems as though they are adding some impressive collaborators for the event.
  • Kendrick Lamar, Pink, Imagine Dragons, Nate Ruess and more join Daft Punk on Grammys lineup

Yesterday we reported that Daft Punk would be performing on TV for the first time since 2008 at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Now we've gotten wind of a few more artists that will hit the stage that night.
