• Duran Duran Taps Mark Ronson, Janelle Monae, Kiesza, Nile Rodgers and More for 2015 Release

    Duran Duran has confirmed its new album is completed, declaring that the yet untitled album will drop during September, if all goes according to schedule. The new set will come with loads of additional talent, including Janelle Monáe, Mark Ronson, Kiesza, former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, Mr. Hudson and Nile Rodgers—the Chic guitarist who helped Daft Punk to acclaim on Random Access Memories.

    Bonnaroo took a big risk when it booked Skrillex to lead a "SuperJam," one of the unique aspects of the festival where an artist curates a massive collective of disparate artists from either the same genre or different ones to come together and play a variety of songs, generally covers. But, by all accounts, his was one of the most successful at the festival as he managed to blend electronic music with hip-hop, rock and reggae, calling upon artists from all across styles and decades. AT&T teamed up with Bonnaroo to put together a seven-part documentary about the making of the Skrillex SuperJam and the meeting of the minds that included Mickey Hart of The Grateful Dead; Robbie Krieger, guitarist for The Doors; A$AP Ferg; Thundercat; Big Gigantic; Warpaint; Zedd; Janelle Monáe; Damian Marley; and many others.
  • Stevie Wonder Extends 'Songs in the Key of Life' Tour [SCHEDULE]

    Last year, music legend Stevie Wonder set out on a tour to commemorate his classic album "Songs in the Key of Life," but just in case you missed him, Wonder has announced a new string of tour dates for March and April, which you can check out below. According to "radio.com," Wonder's newly announced tour dates kick off March 17 in Denver, and finish up April 12 with a performance at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, with dates in Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Louisville, Minneapolis, Austin, Nashville and Baltimore in between. For each concert on his "Songs in the Key of Life" tour, Wonder will perform all 21 songs from his classic 1976 album, along with other songs from throughout his career — it was not the only great album he made, after all. In other Stevie Wonder news, the 64-year-old singer will be the subject of a special Grammy tribute, which will air on CBS Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. Among the artists slated to perform at the event are Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran, Janelle Monae, Usher and Willie Nelson.

    Skrillex likes to do things differently. Whether it is building crazy spaceships, creating new sounds that everyone will copy or playing superjams at Bonnaroo with a ridiculous array of guests, the "Dirty Vibe" producer is always looking forward. This past summer, in 2014, he hosted one of the infamous "Superjams" at Bonnaroo where he brought out a myriad of guests ranging from artists in hip hop, rock and soul for one of the most varied and eclectic jams the festival had seen in quite a while. Skrillex even stepped out from behind the DJ booth to pick up his guitar and play some notes, as he has been known to do at other performances and as a part of his former band, From First To Last. Bonnaroo and AT&T have teamed up to put together a new documentary about the superjam and they have just released the trailer for it.

    Everyone expects the bride to dance with her father at a wedding, but Solange took it up a notch at her New Orleans wedding by performing a choreographed dance to Rae Sremmurd's hit "No Flex Zone" with her 10-year-old son Daniel Julez. Dressed in white, they both egged each other on and showcased their smooth moves. Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Janelle Monáe were in attendance enjoyed the performance along with other friends a family members. The adorable routine ended with a big hug and cheers.

    Erykah Badu has shared a self-made, iPhone-shot video through OkayPlayer, which shows the legendary neo-soul singer doing some solo busking in Times Square to a bunch of predictably unimpressed New Yorkers. With the exception of one person during the video's monologue introduction, nobody seems to recognize Badu, and by the video's end she has made just $3.60 — though she seems excited by how much she earned.

    The nominations for the 2014 Soul Train Music Awards have been announced. Today (Oct. 13), BET announced the nominees for the annual award show, which celebrates the best in black music and entertainment. Chris Brown leads the nominations with seven nods, thanks largely in part to his hit single "Loyal," which racked up four nominations on its own.
