  • Spotify and Echo Nest Indicate Dutch Listeners Strongly Prefer EDM Music Versus Other Countries...Although Not Necessarily Its Own

It's a big week for electronic dance music news. For one, the highly hyped DJMag Top 100 DJs list just hit the web this weekend. More importantly, the Amsterdam Dance Event has occurred over the last five days in the titular city. Consider it something like a SWSW exclusively for electronic music performers, with more than 2,200 acts hitting the largest city in the Netherlands for a swinging five-say stretch. Spotify and its Insights blog took the event into consideration to see just what those wily Dutch were listening to in the lead-up to the event.
  • Hardwell Tops DJ Mag Top 100 DJs List Once Again

If you read Music Times article on the leaked rendition of the DJMag Top 100 DJs list, you'll probably be disappointed to see the real thing: It's exactly the same (except this time nos. 71 through 100 are included as well).
  • Russian EDM Site Leaks DJ Mag Top 100 DJs List Early? Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren Supposedly Place Big

DJMag.com's annual list of the Top 100 DJs in the electronic dance music scene might be the most controversial "best of" list in music but that doesn't mean we, as fans, don't read it as soon as it comes out. It's scheduled to be announced on October 19 but, if Russian music site EDM News is honest, it's acquired the Top 100 (or at least the Top 70) early and has leaked them online.

  • Beatport Lists Best-Selling Performers of Last Decade: Deadmau5 Dominates

Beatport has been selling music to the electronic dance community for ten years now and has kept track of all of its numbers in the process. The outlet, owned by SFX Entertainment, also holds perhaps the most revered charts within electronic music. Now, to mark its tenth year of existence, the site has compiled its Top 10's for best selling performers and most downloaded tracks of the last decade.
  • Beatport Awards Name Three Songs 'Track of The Year'...kind of

Established electronic music publication Beatport gives everybody something to like when it comes to awards season. There's no awards ceremony, nor is there just one way of establishing who's best among the EDM scene. Rather, awards are broken down into three categories: Community Choice, Best-Selling, and Editorial Staff and Expert. Fans get to vote on the first category, Beatport establishes its choices in the latter category, and sheer sales statistics determines the last.
