• Billy Corgan & Miley Cyrus Could Have Had A Song Together But Smashing Pumpkins Frontman Turned Her Down

    Everybody's got opinions, of course, but Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is just filled to the brims with thoughts on music critics, rock 'n' roll and even Miley Cyrus. In a new interview with French radio station OUI, the "Being Beige" singer revealed that he has respect for the Bangerz twerker and would even be open to working with her on a new song, though he has turned down opportunities to pen for her in the past.

    The good people behind "South Park" look to have saved their most ruthless episode for last. No one is safe during tomorrow's Dec. 10 season finale. The new trailer for "The Washington Redskins' Go F--k Yourself Holiday Special" features cartoon appearances by Iggy Azalea, U2, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. The show will also take aim at Al Pacino, Bill Cosby and the recent hologram craze with Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. Like I said, no one is safe. As "Consequence of Sound" notes, this season has been full of special appearances by artists and celebrities who have dominated the news in 2014. Most notably, Randy Marsh revealed that he is actually New Zealand singer Lorde. Even deceased musicians will be dug up, appearing in the show as holograms (social media: #HappyHolograms). The show is bound to be full of laughs with Cartman commentating and Jackson's hologram performing as Peter Pan. Check out the trailer below. "South Park" is currently in its 18th season and, by all accounts, the creative partnership of Trey Parker and Matt Stone has yet to lose steam.

    Art Basel was not just a time for studio artists to show off their pieces. It was also a week for performance artists and musicians like Drake to show off their wild side for the sake of art and step outside their normal comfort zone. This is a perfect breeding ground for someone like the eccentric Miley Cyrus to perform a new song called "The Twinkle Song" she just wrote about her friend's just-deceased cat, via "Billboard." Cyrus stands on stage in a sparkling silver and purple wig and a silver, trimmed-down leotard performing the song for the first time outside of her own living room. "I've never played by myself on a stage before and you've never played a song that I've only played in my living room before, so I'm a little nervous," Cyrus explained. Before sitting down in front of the piano on stage, she explained the inspiration behind the song. She had been having dreams about her friend's cat dying the night it did tragically died. She said, "I feel like her cat kind of told me what I was supposed to say to get her through it ... It was more therapy to me than anything."

Early on, predicted favorites lead the nominations with Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, Sia, Taylor Swift and Pharrell Williams all racking up multiple nods.

    Sometimes the best musical moments are the ones that never actually happened. The Muppets never performed Naughty By Nature's 1993 anthem "Hip Hop Hooray," but thanks to Mylo the Cat's YouTube account, now they have ... sort of. The parody video features old footage from "The Muppet Show" and various Jim Henson movies where the scenes are manipulated to make it look like Kermit the Frog is rapping like Treach. Fozzie Bear also joins in on the fun. Beaker gives the introduction in the video below before Kermit and Fozzie start jamming in the car scene from 1979's "The Muppet Movie." The video is a ton of laughs for those who grew up during the 1990s when Naughty By Nature was huge and the Muppets were entering their third decade of entertaining.     Even though the last year or so has been a PR nightmare for Justin Bieber, that does not mean his career is in the tubes. According to "Forbes," Bieber is the highest earning entertainer under 30 for 2014, bringing in $80 million "thanks mostly to cash from the tail end of his last world tour." At 20, Bieber is also the youngest person on the list. Coming in at second place is One Direction, who have collectively brought in $75 million, while the queen of New York City Taylor Swift comes in third with $64 million — it helps that she released the only platinum album of 2014. Of the 10 entries on the list, nine are musicians, with the sole exception being Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence, who comes in at seventh place with $34 million.

    The Flaming Lips continue to get freaky during performances from their recent "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" tribute album. Last week on "Conan," Miley Cyrus joined the band for a cover of the album's closer "A Day in the Life." First thing's first: That insanely weird foil dress Wayne Coyne sports in the video below is perfect, especially when you consider that Cyrus is hiding underneath it, "Rolling Stone" reports. It is obvious Coyne and Cyrus are two big kids nerding out on some of the best music ever made. The pop star's vocals are captivating, but they are often overshadowed by Coyne's undeniable hippie spirit.
