Passenger

  • A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera top Digital Downloads charts for second week

The end of the year didn't bring any new albums to the Billboard 200 Top 10 this week, and the Top 10 of the Digital Downloads charts didn't bring too many fresh faces either.
  • A Great Big World retakes Digital Downloads top spot; Pitbull/Ke$ha and Eminem/Rihanna follow

"Timber" seemed like it might have been ready to hold down the Digital Downloads chart for a while, but another track had other ideas.
  • Pitbull and Ke$ha beat Eminem and Rihanna for Digital Downloads in slow sales week

For some odd reason, Christmas singles don't sell. Although the Billboard 200 was full of suddenly-popular CD's containing boatloads of "chestnuts," the Digital Downloads Top 10 didn't reflect the same. Which isn't to say that popular music downloads did particularly well either.
  • Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, One Direction and more receive Platinum record and single certifications from RIAA

Some of music's biggest acts are getting an early Christmas gift of gold and platinum. Today (Dec. 11), the RIAA released its list of songs and albums that have gone gold or platinum over the last two months, and the long list features both familiar names and some unexpected gems.
  • Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' most tagged song of 2013 on Shazam: Avicii, Macklemore, Rihanna also make list

Did you ever find yourself in the car listening to the radio and wondering what the heck was with all these "Blurred Lines?" If so, you were not alone in 2013. Music searching service/smartphone app Shazam has revealed its most tagged songs of the year, and Robin Thicke's monster-hit "Blurred Lines" has topped the list.
  • Pitbull and Ke$ha take top Digital Downloads spot with 'Timber,' followed tightly by Eminem's 'The Monster

For once, the album sales for the previous week made more headlines than the digital downloads, but that doesn't mean that singles are doing badly at all. In fact, after just declaring last week that Eminem's "The Monster" could hold down the top spot for weeks to come, a new track took its place.
  • Eminem's 'The Monster' and Lorde's 'Royals' still biggest names on Digital Downloads Charts

Album sales may have been down over on the Billboard 200, but singles downloads continued to be hot over on the Digital Downloads charts. The Top 10 sold a combined 5,000 more downloads than last week-a slight rise-but still impressive considering the recent increase in mp3 sales.
  • Eminem, OneRepublic and Lorde stick around at the top of the Billboard Digital Downloads charts

Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP 2 may have dropped off nearly 75 percent since last week (it still sold more than 200,000 copies), but that only meant good things for sales of his individual tracks this week.
  • Ed Sheeran Plays Guest Performance with Passenger, Proposes Simon and Garfunkel-style Folk Supergroup

What was a regular show for British folk rocker Passenger (Mike Rosenberg) became a tad more newsworthy when his buddy and fellow musician Ed Sheeran joined the performer onstage for a number of covers at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville.
