Tomorrow, Jan. 23, electronic artist Aphex Twin — aka Richard D. James — will be releasing his new EP "Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments PT 2," but today he has offered a small taste of the EP by sharing a remix of its opening track "Diskhat ALL Prepared1mixed 13" through his newly created SoundCloud page, which you can check out below. The track is relatively low-key and moody, with some krautrock-inspired percussion and an emphasis on the space between notes as much as the notes themselves. As the title of the EP implies, the track seems to be rooted in acoustic instruments such as drums and piano, which have then been manipulated by computers. You can't really dance to it — do people really dance to Aphex Twin? — but it is still incredible. -
