• Jon Stewart Announces He Will Leave 'Daily Show' Later This Year

    First we learned that Brian Williams was suspended from "NBC Nightly News," and then a few hours later Jon Stewart announced during a taping that he will be leaving "The Daily Show" later this year. Stewart took over the anchor desk from Craig Kilbourn in 1999 and has used sarcasm and quick wit to win over viewers while holding typical news readers and politicians accountable. His reason for leaving? Stewart explained that he feels "restless" and that the show and fans deserve better than a "restless host."

    Fox News committed a big foul when it dissed Jay-Z recently and brought up the rapper's past as a drug dealer. Sean Hannity took issue with Hova's inclusion in a meeting with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to discuss justice system issues in the wake of the Eric Garner decision. Jon Stewart and members of "The Daily Show," as usual, did not understand the reasoning and decided to fire some satirical shots at the news organization, "Consequence of Sound" notes. Hannity shortened Jay-Z's entire résumé to being "a guy who sold crack, was a drug dealer and actually shot somebody," citing an excerpt from the rapper's book. Hova left that lifestyle long ago, as pretty much everyone in America knows, but that was not enough for Fox News. "Daily Show" correspondent Jessica Williams explains it perfectly in the clip below. "Hova has done quite a few other things since his dealing days. You would think that'd impress people on Fox, because we all know how much they like to preach to black folks about responsibility, self-improvement and what's wrong with the black community," she says.

    Though Austin, Texas, indie rock heroes Spoon already toured the United States this past summer in support of their new album "They Want My Soul," today they announced that they'll be returning to the States in December for a new string of tour dates. Following their month-long stint around Europe, "Consequence of Sound" reported that Spoon will kick off their U.S. tour dates Dec. 7 in Boulder, Colorado, and finish New Year's Eve in Dallas. In February, the tour will resume briefly for a three-date stint in Australia. In addition to these newly announced tour dates, Spoon will also be appearing on "The Daily Show" Thursday, Oct. 30.
