    Ultra Music Festival has set up a strong outpost in South Africa over the past couple years and toda and UMF has unveiled the first phase of artists who will head down to Johannesburg and Cape Town at the end of February. Among those tabbed in the first phase are Skrillex, Zedd, Dash Berlin and Galantis.

    On the back of his sophomore album True Colors, Zedd is heading out in a grand world tour, similar to what he did for Clarity in 2012 and 2013. The "Beautiful Now" DJ is nearly halfway through his U.S. tour and he filmed the first show - a sold out set at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. It is now available for viewers to watch at their leisure.

    Madeon has announced the dates for his North American Fall Live tour. The "Pay No Mind" producer kicked off his world tour in support of his debut artist album Adventure in North America in the spring performing at venues all across the country including Coachella and right here in New York City at Webster Hall, which we had a pleasure to attend. The new set of shows will primarily take place over the month of September, including a few festival gigs at Electric Zoo, Life Is Beautiful and TBD Festival, while also acting as a support act for Zedd on his True Colors Tour this fall.

    It has been nearly a month since Zedd released his second artist album True Colors and the LP has not lost much of its luster. Though it was a little sloppy, one of the tracks "Beautiful Now" featuring Visionary Music Group singer Jon Bellion has emerged as a bonafide hit and has been pushed that way by the Russian-born producer's label Interscope Records. In support of the album, Zedd will be touring extensively this fall and winter.

    Summer means good weather and a new festival every weekend. Chicago's Spring Awakening is preparing to open its doors in just over 24 hours and it has announced something special for those not in town or unable to score tickets. SAMF has partnered with T-Mobile and Twitch to host a festival live stream on the video streaming service. The three days will be aired on Twitch starting at 5 p.m. Central Time featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music like Tiësto, Zedd, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Jamie Jones and new addition to the lineup Jack Ü.
  • Zedd On 'True Colors,' Skrillex, Daft Punk Influence & Collaborating

    Two weeks ago, Anton Zaslavski, known professionally as Zedd, released his sophomore artist album, 'True Colors.' Reviews have been a mixed bag, but the project did quite well in the charts and sales department for a dance album, selling 50,000 in the first week and topping iTunes dance charts worldwide. He spoke to Rolling Stone about the LP, collaborating with other artists like Lady Gaga, Echosmith and Logic, who both appear on the album and the influence artists like Daft Punk and Skrillex have had on his career.

    Twenty One Pilots had never sold more than 11,000 copies of an album in one week prior to the release of Blurryface last week, but that record didn't need streaming to top the Billboard 200. It also comes in at no. 1 on the albums chart, selling 134,000 copies (more than 91 percent of the album's Billboard 200 total came from actual album sales).

    Yet another new performer to top the Billboard 200 as Twenty One Pilots takes the top spot with Blurryface, which sold more than 147,000 equivalent units. That makes the Columbus, OH-based alt group the seventh act to top the charts for the first time during 2015 (including bigger bands such as Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons).

    Russian-born producer, DJ Zedd, real name Anton Zaslavski, released his sophomore album True Colors on Monday. Traditionally, artists have one album release party at a club or venue in a city that holds dear to their heart. Zedd put that memo in the shredder and did something totally different. In the 10 days leading up to the album's release, he had fans find clues in cities across the United States and those who collected them would be taken to a special location that night like the Grand Canyon or Alcatraz, for an intimate show with Zedd where he would premiere a new song from the album. On the album release, Zedd brought the 10-day party to a close in New York City, using landmarks like Times Square and Washington Square Park as clues, before leading fans to the top of the Empire State Building for a special acoustic show that night.

    Zedd is ready to move on. Over the first couple months of the year, he became tabloid fodder after becoming reportedly involved with "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer, Selena Gomez. The pair became known from their collaboration, "I Want You To Know," which was the lead single from the "Clarity" producer's forthcoming artist album, 'True Colors.' However, according to a new interview with Billboard, that is not the end of it for the two young artists on the music front. According to Zedd, there could be more music from them on the way. "'I Want You To Know' was the first one -- we recorded a couple more songs that we haven't finished yet."
