Whoops. Looks like Music Times and a whole bunch of other music media got punked by Morrissey this week. A report on the vocalist's site, True To You, made it seem that Moz had been dropped from Harvest Records, and although the label itself didn't confirm the news, we ran with it anyways. New reports from the company indicate that the former Smiths frontman is still locked into his contract with the company. -
KCON 2014 Doubles Attendance for Second Year; Features Performances from Girls' Generation and G-Dragon
This year's KCON festival literally put in 110 percent this year. The 2014 version of the event, which went down last weekend at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, saw exactly a 110 percent increase in attendance from 2013, raising the total to 42,000 K-Pop fans. According to organizers, more than 40 percent of those attendees came from outside of California. -
Germany's Jonas Kaufmann, 'Hottest Tenor in the World,' Takes Over Opera Australia
Labeled the "hottest tenor" in the singing opera world, Kaufmann has been reckoned to fare with the likes Pavarotti, having a vocal range that is very much undisputed among his peers (except, perhaps, Placido). Next on his schedule, Jonas will head to the land down under, which he hopes will yield a larger audience and bring more fans to opera as a whole.
