"Strictly Come Dancing" star Robin Windsor has died. He was 44.

Windsor, an English dancer who joined the BBC dance competition in 2010 and competed until 2013, received heartfelt messages from his friends, fans and colleagues after the public learned about his tragic death. According to reports, he died weeks after sharing his final Instagram post.

What Was Robin Windsor's Cause of Death?

Burn The Floor's official Facebook page confirmed the loss in a heartfelt post, disclosing that Windsor passed away on Tuesday, February 20. He founded the dance company in 1997.

"His stunning image attached with Jessica Raffa defined our company, colourful, extreme and sensual. His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation. He leaves a void in our hearts that will never be filled, yet our wonderful memories will stay forever," part of the statement read.

It reported the same collage along with the message, "Today we all dance for you. Burn The Floor would not be Burn The Floor without you. Fly with the angels Robin. Rest in Peace."

Sisco Entertainment released a similar statement in which the company looked back at home his relationship with other people "was a gift cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him."

Windsor's cause of death has yet to be released, but it was shared he was in "excruciating pain" prior to his passing. He also spoke about feeling depressed and not being able to watch "Strictly Come Dancing" after his exit.

Robin Windsor's Battle With Depression Revealed

Before Windsor's death, he became an ambassador for mental health charity Sane and had opened up about his struggles several times.

"I didn't really understand when I was 19 years old that I was suffering from depression at that time," he went on. "And as I said, I was fuelling my life with as much as possible without drugs."

Windsor added that dancing made him happy and that he felt lost without it in his life. While he hit rock bottom when he needed to give up his "Strictly Come Dancing" gig, he expressed his gratitude that he was able to get back on track after recuperating.

During his time on the show, he notably danced with Deborah Meaden, Anita Dobson, Patsy Kensit and Lisa Riley.
