John Lennon's son, Sean Ono Lennon, shared his thoughts on the next steps in curating future films based on his father's band, The Beatles.

"That's the minimum you need to cover the epic story of The Beatles," Ono Lennon said during an interview. "You need four films."

With Sam Mendes' films about the Fab Four coming soon, the musical legend's son tossed in some new ideas, like who should play Lennon.

"I'm hoping that Emma Stone might consider it because she did such a good job in 'Poor Things,'" he said in an interview, referring to the recently crowned Best Actress at the 2024 Academy Awards.

"I think if you're gonna reach that as an actor, the next obvious step is to really go for it and be John Lennon," Ono Lennon jokingly added.

Sam Mendes' The Beatles Biopic Coming to Life

The Beatles' upcoming biopics are slated to premiere in 2027. They will follow the lives, works, and music of Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.

According to Fobes, as of this writing, there are no casting announcements regarding the highly anticipated films; however, they are still in their "very early days."

Although it seems like Ono Lennon has already set his sights on which star would be fitting to portray the "Imagine" hitmaker, he did not name anyone who could portray the rest of The Beatles.

The late singer's son attended the Oscars on Mar. 10. His film "War Is Over!" won Best Animated Short. It was inspired by the "Music of John & Yoko," reports say.

Everything to Know About The Beatles' Biopics

The projects will be led by Mendes, the genius behind "American Beauty," "Skyfall," "1917," and others.

The Oscar Award-winning director's work is described as "daring, large-scale idea is that and then some" by Tim Rothman, CEO of Sony Pictures.

As per Business Insider, the four biopics "will intersect to tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history," making it one big "The Beatles Cinematic Universe," a reference to Marvel's cinematic universe.

"It's a testament to his creative brilliance and powers of persuasion that Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sean Lennon, and Olivia Harrison responded with such warmth and enthusiasm as soon as he spoke with them," said producer Pippa Harris.

"What is truly exciting is for Sam to have the freedom to delve into the lives of each of the Beatles, with nothing off limits and no sense of the band wanting him to tell a particular 'authorised' version of their rise to success."
