An exclusive auction unveils a dazzling top once worn by Britney Spears on The X Factor stage.

Goldin Auctions recently listed the Sheri Bodell chainmail halter top in their Pop Culture Elite Auction. The "Baby One More Time" singer wore it in 2012.

With an initial bid of $500, the crop top revealing the midriff could fetch up to $25,000, per Page Six.

On the Netflix series King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch last year, it was revealed that the garment had initially been a dress. Britney later transformed it into a halter top paired with jeans.

A member of the singer's team gifted De Santis this valuable shirt while he was a producer for Extra.

Despite not participating in the auction, Britney Spears served as a judge on the American version of The X Factor during Season 2, alongside Simon Cowell, LA Reid, and Demi Lovato.

Britney Spears Hated Being On The X Factor

In her memoir, The Woman In Me, published in 2023, Britney Spears discussed her experiences on the show, revealing a strong aversion to the work required while under a conservatorship.

Carly Rose Sonenclar, a contestant on the show and was under the pop star's team, ultimately secured the second-place position.

Serving as a judge in 2012, the "Toxic" singer found the experience overwhelming and nerve-wracking.

"I think a lot of people are really professional on TV, like Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. When the camera's on them, they thrive. And that's great."

"I used to be able to do that when I was younger, but again, I feel like I age backwards when I'm afraid," she went on to say.

"And so I got to where I was very, very nervous if I knew I had to be on air, and I didn't like being nervous all day long."

Upon reflection, Britney has come to terms with the fact that some roles are not suited for her.
