Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse almost had similar trajectories in their careers, that's why the former's mom was concerned about her daughter facing a tragic fate like what happened to the legendary musician during the height of her career.

According to People Magazine, Allen's mother, Alison Owen, is one of the producers of the upcoming biopic Back to Black and she spoke in an interview with The Times to share the similarities between her daughter and the later singer.

The 63-year-old film producer recalled being worried about the singer's well-being, especially when all eyes were on her because of her popularity.

At the time, she was concerned that all the fame and attention that Allen was getting could potentially "destroy my daughter" and might've led her to the tragic experience that Winehouse had.

Lily Allen Had a Bad Role Model

Owen further discussed that her daughter had a bad role model and it was her father. She revealed that actor Keith Allen was idolized for taking drugs, being drunk, and swearing.

"In her young brain she thought that's what you did when you became famous," adding the singer didn't realize it's only okay for men, but when women does it, they get punished.

The paparazzi also didn't help with her situation during the peak of her career as Owen recalled them waiting for her and would say horrendous things such as "your single's going down the charts" or comment on her physical appearance to get a reaction from her.

Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse Had Similar Career Trajectories

The outlet noted that both Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse debuted in the 2000s, and they worked with producer Mark Ronson.

During the height of their fame and success, both of them were nominated in same categories at different award-giving ceremonies.

Later in the interview, Owen recalled witnessing Winehouse being "as thin as a pencil" at a party along with her then-partner, Blake Fielder.

"Both were clearly 'using' and I remember thinking, 'This is an accident waiting to happen. This is going to be a disaster,'" she recalled.

Unfortunately, Amy Winehouse passed away in July 2011 due to alcohol poisoning. She was only 27 years old.

On the other hand, Lily Allen was able to turn her life upside down and became better. She had been sober for four years now and has been enjoying life with her husband, David Harbour, and her two daughters.
