Nicki Minaj is being slammed on social media as "desperate" for collaborating with Chris Brown on a new remix of her hit single, "FTCU."

The "Sleeze Mix" of the single, also set to feature Travis Scott and Sexyy Red, is set to drop on Friday, April 19. Minaj took to her Instagram account to announce the upcoming single, debuting it's cover art. The track will be the sixth version of the single she has dropped, following the "STPU Edition" and a clean radio version.

Following the announcement, Minaj faced online heat when it was publicized that she recruited Brown for the single. Fans responded that she was "desperate for a hit" and "milking a flop song" after releasing several alternate versions.

Many also pointed back to Brown's dark past, after he was found guilty of domestic violence after a physical altercation with his then-girlfriend Rihanna left her hospitalized. Social media users allege that Minaj had weaponized the case against Megan Thee Stallion during their online spat earlier this year, only to collaborate with Brown once again.

"She used Rihanna's situation as an example of 'real' abuse against Megan and is now collaborating with said abuser? that she acknowledges IS an abuser," someone wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Minaj accused Megan Thee Stallion of wanting a "Rihanna moment" when she came forward with the traumatic admission that her ex-boyfriend, Tory Lanez, had shot her in the foot. The Pink Friday 2 singer said that the rapper needed "constant f-ing sympathy" after the event.

"[Nicki Minaj] is a 42 year old woman that acts 12. Her husband is a convicted sex offender," another critic wrote. "No surprise she has woman beater, Chris Brown, on this new remix. The woman is SICK."

"Okay I like Nicki Minaj, but she's dropping a song with Chris Brown AND Travis Scott? Like girl..She's not helping those allegations one bit," another disappointed social media user said.

However, others seemed to defend Minaj's involvement with Brown, stating that they were excited for the new remix. Her "Barbz" pointed out that clapping back at Minaj online would not influence the career choices she makes.

"Y'all gonna throw a tantrum every time she works with him? Y'all are not stopping anything. Chris Brown is a legend," someone posted.

Minaj has collaborated with Brown on seven other songs, including "Right By My Side," "All Eyes on You," and "Wobble Up." Several of the "Super Freaky Girl" rapper's fans pointed out that another song to add to their repertoire as collaborators should not be a surprise.

"Being upset about Nicki working with Chris Brown is like being upset at the sky being blue. They gotta be on their tenth collab by now," someone wrote.

The backlash for the single comes after Minaj's husband, a registered sex offender, had to request permission from a judge to travel overseas for her international Pink Friday 2 tour dates. Kenneth Petty was granted permission by a judge to travel for the tour, after they declared that they would need to be together to care for their young son.
