Theatre-Kid Turned Pop-Princess

Reneé Rapp made a name for herself in 2019 for her Broadway role as Regina George in Mean Girls. However, that gig ended abruptly in March 2020 due to COVID-19 forcing a Broadway shutdown.

Rapp then shifted her acting career to the screen, starring in HBO's The Sex Lives of College Girls.

She played uber-rich legacy student Leighton Murray for the show's first two seasons which were released in 2021 and 2022.

Later on in 2022, it was announced that Rapp would be reprising her role as Regina George in the Mean Girls musical movie adaptation which was released in early 2024 to mixed reviews.

However, Rapp revealed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times that acting was always just a pathway to pop stardom.

John Janick, the chairman and chief executive of Interscope Geffen A&M, said that Rapp had told him, 'That acting had just been a vehicle to get to music. That she was so devoted to her career that it was sometimes detrimental to her well-being.'

She released her debut EP 'Everything to Everyone' in January 2023, with her debut album 'Snow Angel' releasing in August that same year.

The 25-year-old has certainly established herself as a pop artist to watch out for, amassing 1.4 billion streams over her entire discography.

Her sophomore album 'Bite Me' is set to release on 1 August, with three singles off the album, 'Leave Me Alone,' 'Mad,' and 'Why Is She Still Here' having been released over the past several months.

With her biggest concert tour yet and second album on the way, it seems like Reneé Rapp is achieving her pop star dreams.
