It's been a while since the world has heard new music from Rihanna, but it seems like she has something in the works. Earlier this week, the "Diamonds" singer posted some ominous messages on Twitter, hinting that she's working on a new album.

On Oct. 8, Rihanna very obviously indicated that she was hard at work in the studio.

Alongside a very blurry and grainy photograph, Rihanna wrote, "Burning candles inside of the studio, rappin n prayin..."

And in case a photo from inside the studio and, well, a very obvious statement about recording new music wasn't enough, Rihanna answered a fan confirming that she was anxious about new music.

Though Rihanna prolifically released seven albums between 2005 and 2012, all has been quiet on the new music front, with Rihanna's lone new music contribution in 2014 being a guest spot on the Shakira single "Can't Remember to Forget You." Rihanna even jokingly referred to her own lack of musical outlet, which is frustrating members of her Rihanna Navy.

Despite the ominous and self-referential tweets, there's no timeline for a new Rihanna album currently on the table.

Her last effort, Unapologetic was released in November 2012.
