Lil Wayne's long-awaited Tha Carter V album was slated to drop yesterday but was pushed back. Wayne addressed the situation in a new "Carter 5 P.S.A." clip. He initially jokes that he's been skateboarding too much and forgot about the album but then goes on to reveal the real reason behind the delay.

He says he recorded too many songs for the album and needed to find a way for fans to enjoy the complete package. Rather than drop an album with only 12 or so songs, he decided to split Tha Carter V into two parts.

"Honestly, I've been working hard every mothaf**king day on this album, and this album mean a whole lot to me. I know the real fans out there, it means a whole lot to them, too. So I kind of refuse to cheat them and just give them anything, anything rush. I recorded so many songs that we needed to come up with an idea, a way to get all the music out there. Not just 13 songs or 12 songs."

The first part of the album will drop on Dec. 9.

"Stay tuned for the next part of the album," Wayne said. "It's gunna be crazy. I worked too hard. You're gunna love it. Cause I fucking love it, if you don't fucking love it then you don't fucking love 'love.'"

He also went on to share a snippet from on of the albums first singles "Gotti," featuring The Lox.
