The Flaming Lips continue to get freaky during performances from their recent Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album. Last week on Conan, Miley Cyrus joined the band for a cover of the album's closer "A Day in the Life."

First thing's first: That insanely weird foil dress Wayne Coyne sports in the video below is perfect, especially when you consider that Cyrus is hiding underneath it, Rolling Stone reports. It is obvious Coyne and Cyrus are two big kids nerding out on some of the best music ever made. The pop star's vocals are captivating, but they are often overshadowed by Coyne's undeniable hippie spirit.

The frontman talked to radio.com last month about his friendship with Cyrus.

"They know her, she's a freak. I can tell you for sure, she's a bigger freak than I am," he said. "You'd love her. I mean, if you were around her, the perception that people have, that would completely disappear, you'd just love her. She's absolutely fun and full of love."

With a Little Help from My Fwends came out last month and features collaborations with My Morning Jacket, Moby, Dr. Dog, Grace Potter and Phantogram. RS gave the album two our of five stars.

"Only Cyrus' chilly despondence on 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' and Tegan and Sara's giddy 'Lovely Rita' work without going overboard," the review reads. "Coyne's kaleidoscope eyes were too big for his own good this time."

Previously, Coyne and Co. performed with Potter on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Halloween. The band performed "With a Little Help from My Friends" and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," both of which take the cake for trippiest performance from the album so far.
