One Direction has largely pulled from the '80s for its new album FOUR, but the boys are going folky and fast-paced in the newest song to be released from the record. Today (Nov. 12), 1D released the fifth track from FOUR, the lightning fast, insanely catchy and acoustic guitar led "Girl Almighty."

Though songs like "Steal My Girl" and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" channel heavy '80s power ballads and synth pop, "Girl Almighty" feels more like the One Direction of yesteryear, with peppy, dance-worthy shuffling drumbeats and hooks for days.

"Girl Almighty" almost feels rushed, with a tempo faster than anything heard from One Direction in quite some time. However, the song is kicked down a notch thanks to some fancy, upbeat guitar work. Instead of feeling like a rushed piece of pop trash, "Girl Almighty" plays off like a hopeful love anthem.

"Let's have another toast to the girl almighty / Let's pray we stay young made of lightning / Am I the only, only believer / There's something happening here," One Direction sings in the pre-chorus and chorus. Indeed, "Girl Almighty" has the energy of lightning in a bottle. It's easy to imagine dancing in your room alone to this song, hair and arms flying in any which way with few cares in the world.

It's free and fun and purely One Direction.
