Earlier this week, Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Kanye West's interview with BBC Radio 1. West sat down with host Zane Lowe in an hour-long conversation that more or less confirmed West's narcissism (surprise, surprise). He claimed that rap was the new rock 'n' roll, and that he was the biggest star of them all. "I'm the No. 1 rock star on the planet," he boasted. And now that Michael Jackson is not longer alive, he's the only one at his level, he explained.

Naturally, Kimmel, being a comedian, found this a great opportunity to get a few laughs out of West's outrageous remarks. "Does Kanye West know you're not supposed to be your own hype man," he sneered before airing the segment, "Kid (re)Kreation," which spoofed the BBC interview by having two children reenact it.

Let's just say West didn't think it was all that funny. "I don't understand it," Kimmel said in his monologue. "I don't know why he's angry. The bit was pretty, I though, innocuous. But finally I'm in a rap feud."

According to Kimmel, West called him up and told him that he needed to apologize for making fun of him. "He told me I had two choices. Number one, apologize publicly. And that was really the only choice. The other choice he gave was that my life, he said, 'You're life is going to be much better if you apologize.'"

West also compared himself to Tupac in the phone call. "I am the most powerful voice in the media. I am Pac."

Then the twitter rant began:

"I don't even know if I've seen some of these because they are happening as we speak," Kimmel said. "That's right out of the Tupac playbook isn't it?"

On a slightly un-related note: Does Kanye still like fish sticks?
