When she released her first two solo albums -- Love. Angel. Music. Baby. and The Sweet Escape -- in the mid-2000s, Gwen Stefani was best known for creating hyper annoying, mildly grating pop music. In the best way, of course. With hits like "Hollaback Girl" and "Wind It Up," Stefani blasted onto the top of the pop charts often with the help of Pharrell. Well, now the duo are back again as coaches on The Voice season seven and musical partners with the irritatingly awesome new single "Spark The Fire."

Following a series of leaks, Stefani and Pharrell officially debuted "Spark the Fire" last night on the top eight episode of The Voice. The official music video followed several hours later.

The song, which features Stefani in new rapping territory (though she's also sort of half-singing as well) is filled with wild beats, strained and scratchy vocals from Stefani and an incessant stomping thump that never seems to end. While this sounds like a recipe for a disastrous track in written form, "Spark the Fire" really works on some level.

Maybe it's Stefani's "don't give a f**k" attitude, maybe it's that special Pharrell hit-making touch or maybe there's just something so wrong about this track that it's oh-so-right.

The music video is fittingly ridiculous for Stefani's rumpus of a song. After floating down from a cloud she storms into a hella good party as emojis and speech bubbles float around her head and the heads of her fellow revelers.

Once again, it's an annoying music video concept and loud and colorful, but man, it just works.
