Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco made NFL fans laugh in April 2012 when he announced that he was the best quarterback in the NFL. Up to that point, he had little to back up his assertion besides a handful of playoff wins.

"I mean, I think I'm the best," he told ESPN. "I don't think I'm top five, I think I'm the best. I don't think I'd be very successful at my job if I didn't feel that way. I mean, c'mon? That's not really too tough of a question."

After that, Flacco proceeded to shock the world with the best postseason QB performance of all-time, throwing 11 touchdowns against zero interceptions in four victories. For his efforts, he was awarded the Super Bowl MVP trophy and subsequently given the biggest contract in the league.

Today, few experts would call Flacco the best passer in the game. He's never thrown for 4,000 yards or come close to a regular season MVP award. Most fans wouldn't even label him "elite."

But the Delaware product keeps winning. He led the Ravens to another postseason victory on Saturday night, throwing two touchdowns in a 30-17 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Soon afterward, his coach was whipping out the "best" tag again.

"Joe Flacco, what can you say," Harbaugh said (via ESPN). "He's the best quarterback in football. We'll take him any day of the week, twice on Sunday or Saturday if that be the case."

Flacco is now 10-4 in his postseason career, and will face Tom Brady -- perhaps the greatest quarterback of all-time -- and the New England Patriots next weekend.

"The big thing is we have a good team and we didn't hurt ourselves tonight," Flacco said after the Steelers game. "We didn't have a lot of possessions early. We made the most of them by getting some kind of points.

"We played a clean football game and kept at it."
