Though One Direction tried to contain it, the "Little Things" band's new single 2013 "Best Song Ever" leaked onto the Internet on Wednesday (July 17), according to Hollywood Life.

Though the group had been releasing teaser trailers and fan contests to build up hype to the song (and they still are), the inevitable happened. Now in clean up mode, member Harry Styles took to BBC Radio 1 today (July 19) to officially premiere the song and talk about the new track, which is the best song ever, according to 1D.

"'Best Song Ever' is my favorite song we've done so far..." he told Scott Mills on the radio. "It's just a little bit heavier, not like Slipknot or anything but the chords are bigger, the drums are bigger, the guitars are bigger. So, we really like it."

Of course, the BBC Radio interview wasn't kept strictly to the new single. Styles also touched on life on the road (he misses clean clothes and apparently has to do laundry himself), getting stiff legs (he doesn't have a personal masseuse like K-Pop star Psy does) and Sex And The City ("It's a great show, by the way.")

Listen to Styles' interview with Scott Mills below:

Styles' observations about "Best Song Ever" are, in fact, correct. With bombastic guitars, crashing drums and soaring vocals, the new single is louder than anything 1D have released to date. Fans will be pleased though. The song is still as sugary sweet as "Kiss You" or "What Makes You Beautiful," even despite its turned up volume and energy.

Singing about meeting a girl at a raucous club or party, singing the best song ever, then forgetting the event in the morning in a haze, the party anthem is a wonderfully poppy summer hit.

The song will officially be released on Monday, July 22. It was first heard in the trailer for the upcoming concert documentary One Direction: This Is Us.
