As previously reported, Christina Aguilera is set to guest star on the ABC series Nashville. The Voice coach will be going country for her new role as Jade St. John, a pop superstar who rolls into town for a two-night engagement at The Bridgestone with an agenda: she wants to record a country album, but her label insists she stay on brand with pop music. You know, basically the opposite of Taylor Swift. Now the singer has revealed that for her April 15 appearance, she recorded two new songs called "The Real Thing" and "Shot Gun."

According to NME, the songs are expected to be performed on the show and will be released as singles on April 21. Aguilera, who changed her hair color for the role, is set to appear in a "multi-episode arc" on the show, though it has not been confirmed exactly how many episodes she'll appear in.

Aguilera joins a slew of stars who have made guest appearances on Nashville, including Brad Paisley, Kelly Clarkson, Zac Brown, Conan O'Brien and Dan Auerbach.

Meanwhile, Aguilera is working on her eighth studio album, which is being produced by fellow Voice coach Pharrell and will follow up 2012's Lotus.

"During my pregnancy, I had a meeting with him and just connected on where I want to take the next album," Aguilera told Extra TV about her collaboration with Pharrell. "And we started talking music, and he has one song in particular that I love."

She continued: "I just have to make sure it's right, and it's genuine and it's heartfelt, and I'm very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully. I've been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I'm really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together."
