Bruce Springsteen is already showing 2014 who's the Boss. The legendary rock star's latest album High Hopes has debuted at No. 1 in the UK.

According to The Official Charts Company new album pushed off Ellie Goulding's top-selling album Halcyon from the No. 1 slot after two weeks and notches Springsteen's 10th No. 1 album in the UK, putting him in the same category as U2 and The Rolling Stones.

So, the Boss is definitely in some good company.

Besides Halcyon, which fell to No. 2, other albums in the UK's top five include: Beyoncé's self-titled album, Bastille's Bad Blood and Gary Barlow's Since I Saw You Last.

Springsteen's No. 1 UK album could very well be a sign of good things to come here in the US. According to Billboard, High Hopes is also aiming for the first No. 1 debut of 2014 in the US... that is if he can hold off the soundtrack to the hit Disney animated feature film Frozen. As of Friday, Jan. 17, Springsteen was projected to sell 95,000 copies of his new album stateside, while the Frozen soundtrack was looking at numbers around 85,000.

If Springsteen gets the No. 1 album in the US, it will be his 11th chart-topper here. His last album not to reach the Billboard 200's top spot was 2006's We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, which peaked at No. 3.
