After much controversy surrounding Young Thug's decision to name his mixtape Carter 6, the Rich Gang rapper recently revealed that the name is off limits due to a lawsuit.

Last September, Thug took many Lil Wayne fans by surprise when he announced that wanted to continue Weezy's 'Tha Carter' series after it was reported that Tha Carter V would be his last solo album.

Although Wayne has never publicly approved of Thug carrying the torch, the "Stoner" rhymer was sticking to his guns until he received word of a possible lawsuit.

"Can't name the mixtape Carter 6 'cause these f*ck a** n*ggas trying to sue, just like some hoes," Thug said in a clip posted on Instagram.

Instead, it sounds like he has decided to name his forthcoming project Barter 6, as a reference to the infamous Blood gang.

Initially, Young Thug said that the name of his debut would depend on the title of Wayne's album.

"I dunno, 'cause Wayne's coming out with more albums," the Atlanta rapper said. "I don't know if he's gonna name one of them Carter VI. It depends on what he names his album."

Since the announcement and a feud between Weezy and Cash Money, Lil Wayne's daughter, Reginae, has expressed her disapproval of the Carter 6 title.

"Is he trying to be funny with this Carter6 [poop emoji]? Cause it's pretty childish to me! #myopinion," she wrote on Twitter adding, "Try again if you're even trying to get on my fathers level. Listen I usually stay in a child's place but that's my father and I'll stick up for him no matter what! It was not to be disrespectful. But you know what. I don't have to explain myself! I don't regret anything and I'll repeat myself if I have to. Behind all the cameras and media, there's a real family with feelings. YOU CANT SIT WITH US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
