Ed Sheeran is a big Game of Thrones fan - anyone who saw the glee on his face when he was gifted Jon Snow's sword knows that. But, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer doesn't just want to watch the epic HBO show; he wants to be a guest star. In a new interview, Sheeran revealed that he is going to "hound" the people behind Game of Thrones until he can appear on screen.

In an interview with The Sun (via The Metro), Sheeran revealed that he's been asked to be an extra on Game of Thrones before, but he's always been busy. However, he's not about to let his schedule affect his chances for season six.

"There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it's the time I tour in the U.K.," Sheeran said. "But I've got that time off this year, so I'm going to hound them."

Sheeran wouldn't be the first musician to appear on Game of Thrones. Coldplay drummer Will Champion appeared as a drummer during the infamous "Red Wedding," and Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody has appeared as a solider.

Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros also appeared in an extended cameo on the show performing as the band during King Joffrey's ill-fated wedding to Margaery Tyrell. The band then recorded a new version of "The Rains of Castamere."

Metal band Anthrax is also rumored to appear on season five of the show and requested to record the drums for their new album in the infamous throne room.

So, an Ed Sheeran cameo is totally possible! Let's just hope he can keep his sword in check.
