One Direction will be joining Big Bird and friends for a special episode of Sesame Street this fall, according to a recent teaser clip in which Big Bird announces, "Some special friends are coming to Sesame Street. Stay tuned."
Sesame Street also posted a teaser of the band singing about the letter "U" to the tune of "What Makes You Beautiful" on YouTube and later posted on Twitter, "Guess who's 1D's 'biggest' fan? (And thanks for visiting Sesame Street, @onedirection!)."
In the reworking of their hit song, the boy band uses the alphabet to explain what makes "U" so special with lines like, "26 letters are in the alphabet, but we're here to sing about you."
PBS has not yet confirmed the official broadcast date for the One Direction episode, but it appears that the 45th anniversary season (fall 2014-2015) will also feature a number of celebrities including Tina Fey, Janelle Monae and Macklemore.
