The Billboard Music Awards, always known for their stellar live performances, has gotten a new round of artists in its lineup. Today (April 21), it was announced that Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Meghan Trainor and Ed Sheeran will be performing at the 2015 ceremony.

The four pop superstars join Hozier, Nick Jonas, Sam Smith and Fall Out Boy with Wiz Khalifa on the roster, People reports.

The stacked lineup comes as no real coincidence. Legend is a finalist for six Billboard Music Awards, including Top Radio Songs Artist and Top R&B Artist. His single "All of Me" was one of the biggest songs of 2014, spending three weeks at No. 1 sandwiched between the mega-hits "Happy" by Pharrell Williams and Iggy Azalea's "Fancy."

Trainor is one of the most nominated artists of the night with nine BBMAs on the line, including Top New Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist thanks to her breakout hit "All About That Bass." The Title track spent eight weeks at No. 1 throughout the fall.

Meanwhile, Sheeran is also up for three awards, including Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist, thanks to his smash album x.

Though Clarkson is not a finalist for any 2015 Billboard Music Awards her latest album Piece By Piece was her third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards will take place on Sunday, May 17, at 8 p.m. on ABC. The show will be hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen.
