Rick Ross has run into trouble with the law after allegations have emerged that the rapper pistol-whipped a man on his property in Fayette County, outside of Atlanta. Charges include aggravated assault, aggravated battery and kidnapping.

According to reports from WSB-TV, the victim had been hired to do work on the property (although what kind of work wasn't clarified), and no word was given as to how Ross and the worker came to a disagreement. Regardless of the details, it got ugly fast. Ross was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the arrest on Wednesday, as was one of his bodyguards. Again, details of the crime weren't released, but one has to wonder how kidnapping charges got tossed in with the battery and assault allegations (which are pretty self-evident).

It seems authorities were taking the case seriously: Billboard reports that the story was confirmed to them by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, not the Fayette County police force.

It's the second time that Ross has been arrested in Fayette County so far this month, although the first incident (two weeks ago) was merely for marijuana possession. His history is checkered with arrests and legal incidents however. One case that sounds uncomfortably like this one was during 2008, when internet personality DJ Vlad sued Ross, alleging that the rapper had organized a mugging of the reporter after Vlad asked him several questions regarding his background as a member of law enforcement.

Stay tuned for more details on the current case as they come in.
