Apparently, Drake isn't the only one who has been putting in work for release with Apple Music. M.I.A. recently released her "Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border" short film through the streaming service.

Her latest release consists two songs, M.I.A.'s new song "Swords" and "Warriors" off of her 2013 album Matangi. In the six minute-video, the thought provoking lyricist appears in India and Ivory Coast. Footage includes mind-blowing choreography from young Indian female sword dancers and some pretty amazing footwork from an African spiritual warrior, who she reportedly discovered on YouTube.

"I directed and edited my first music video for 'Warriors' for my last album, Matangi, and I held it back until now, because it inspired me to make a whole series of songs and videos on the concept of borders," M.I.A. said in a press release. "Making songs and videos at the same time out of a suitcase on location is something I did on my album Kala, but it's video, as well as music, made by me in a very Arular way."

Back in May, she had expressed her desire to talk about cultural appropriation and tweeted that she could not release a video that she shot in Africa. It is unclear whether or not she was referencing this video.

"Swords" is slated to be featured on M.I.A.'s forthcoming fifth album, Matahdatah. "The concept for this LP is 'broader than a border' and Matahdatah is the journal of Matangi. Sometimes I move vertical and sometimes I move horizontal."

"Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border" is the first in a series of music and video bundles that will be released leading up to the album debut.
