The 2015 MTV VMAs has saw its fair share of interesting moments, ranging from Kanye West announcing his presidential candidacy in 2020 and the surprise collaboration between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. There haven't been many crossover collabs until Twenty One Pilots and A$AP Rocky took the stage together to perform a medley of their tracks including "Lane Boy" and "L$D."

The three artists came right out of the gate as Rocky and Twenty One Pilots front man Tyler Joseph got right into their tunes. Drummer Josh Dun got after it on the drums as the Joseph and Rocky ran around on stage, running through three songs in four minutes including "L$D," "Lane Boy" and "Heavydirtysoul."

As times it was difficult to keep up with, especially with Rocky's soft-sounding mic, but the performance as a whole was electrifying and the most interesting musically of all the showings throughout the night.

Joseph and Rocky took turns rapping with vigor and voracity, chiming in on each other's track and adding their individual tempo to it.

The show has been safe musically thus far and this was the first real risk that we are accustomed to seeing on other award shows like The Grammys.
