Three years following her untimely death, it has been announced that a hologram of legendary singer, Whitney Houston, is set to tour the world in 2016.

According to Vibe, a deal was recently signed allowing Hologram USA to use the "How Will I Know" singer's image and songs in the show.

"It's a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come," Pat Houston, head of the late singer's estate and Whitney's sister-in-law, said in a press release. "I look forward to the partnership."

During the course of her captivating career, Houston won six Grammys and sold 170 million albums, singles and videos. In addition to her highly successful singing career, Houston also starred in films including The Preacher's Wife, Waiting to Exhale and Cinderella.

Back in January, Lifetime aired a biopic on the late singer, starring former America's Next Top Model contestant, Yaya DaCosta, as the lead role. Following the announcement of DaCosta's part, Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, blasted director Angela Bassett on social media for not giving her the role. Bassett later opened up about her decision not to cast Bobbi Kristina, implying that she wasn't well-equipped for the part.

Later that month, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home. She died in July of this year after six months in the hospital while her family prayed for a recovery. Early reports that were later dismissed as false indicated that the Houston family intended to remove Bobbi Kristina from life support on the anniversary of her mother's death. The singer was found dead in eerily similar circumstances ahead of the 2012 Grammy Awards.
