R. City and Adam Levine's new single "Locked Away" is quickly taking over the charts, climbing to No. 6 this week on the Hot 100. But that doesn't mean the push for a top five slot doesn't continue, and the song has now gotten a high profile boost from Lil Wayne. On Friday (Sept. 25), the Young Money boss hopped on to the What Dreams Are Made Of cut for a new remix.

Wayne takes over the first full minute of R. City's "Locked Away" in his remix, moving away from his typical drugs and sex tropes and getting touching, in line with the song's original meaning. Though Weezy can be heard lighting up at the top of the track (of course), the rest of his verse finds him rapping about being a ride-or-die guy for his ride-or-die girl, even though he's going to be "going away for a while."

"I'm going away for a while / Pray for me child / Will you wait for me now? / I know sometimes confusion give way to the doubt / Sometimes I fall short of what I say I'm about / At my best I am love, and nothing comes easy but in God we trust / You ride for me, and I ride for us," Wayne raps at the top of the song, cutting away from Levine and R. City's own vocals.

Following Wayne's verse, the rest of "Locked Away" plays out as normal.

"Locked Away" is the new single from R. City's debut album What Dreams Are Made Of. Though best known for writing for the likes of Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, this new album and single have established R. City as a hitmaker in their own right.

What Dreams Are Made Of will be released on Friday, Oct. 9.
