Ellie Goulding got accused of lip-syncing and tried to blame it on the sound guy. It happened on Saturday night (Oct. 3) at the Australian Football League pre-game show, where Goulding was performing "Love Me Like You Do" and the track seemingly lingered on without her.

E! even reported that it sounded like two of her tracks were playing at the same time when she took to the center of the field to perform. The two tracks in question were "Love Me Like You Do" and "Burn," which both started playing in unison and echoed throughout the stadium while Goulding and her band stood onstage in complete silence. This outraged her usually loyal fans and there was some immediate backlash.

In a series of Tweets catalogued by The Huffington Post, Goulding wrote, "Love it when people think I lip sync, what a rad compliment :) Now where does one find a good veggie restaurant in Melbs?

She further said, "Considering I had no voice yesterday and a sleepless night because of the meds I would say it's been a good day :) thanks for the love x."

The singer also shared that she had not been feeling well and could have used the break from performing with, "Truth be told I've been unwell the past week and I could do with a long spell chill but I was determined to give everything for Oz today."

In a subtle dig at some fans, she shared, "I give 100% in my performances even when people don't give much back. My fans know that. That's because I love what I do so much."

And finally, "Incidentally, the sound guy who pressed playback twice and trigged both band tracks is nowhere to be found," a tweet that seems to have since disappeared from her account said.

It's not surprising that Goulding would blame the whole debacle on the sound guy in the tradition of the infamous Ashlee Simpson lip-syncing incident, where she blamed her drummer. But despite the embarrassment, her latest single "On My Mind" with an accompanying music video is doing well and her third studio album Delirium is scheduled for release soon.
