As if years in the spotlight weren't enough to convince everyone that Britney Spears is a true professional, she let it be known during her Piece of Me residency gig at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Friday. In the middle of her residency performance of her 2009 hit single "3," Spears suffered a wardrobe malfunction as her bodysuit zipper popped open. Even as it unzipped all the way down her back, the singer didn't miss a move or let the outfit prevent the show from going on.
One hip thrust managed to break the zipper of her shear, black body suit, which Spears initially tried to fix before motioning for a backup dancer to diffuse the situation. After multiple dancers came, went and failed to close the zipper, the 33-year-old performer strutted and shimmied away, continuing her performance, bare baked. With the suit inches away from baring her private parts, Spears kept nailing every move and dropping low to the ground with the risk of showing the audience what's under the suit.
"No one in the audience noticed until her dancer was spending way too much time behind her." A fan in attendance named Cara Brennan told MTV News. She only ran off stage to change once the performance was over.
This is a moment most people in show business prepare for, and for Spears this wasn't the first time a zipper has failed her. During her Dec. 28, 2014 Vegas gig, her dress for the "Circus" number unfastened in a similar way, but luckily a backup dancer was able to zip it back up.
According to People, the faulty costume is the latest addition to the "Pretty Girls" singer's wildly successful Piece of Me residency in Las Vegas, which launched in 2013 and was extended to run for two more years in September.
