The 2015 CMA Awards have one unexpected guest and collaboration... Tennesee native Justin Timberlake is set to join country superstar Chris Stapleton on stage at this year's ceremony.

The CMAs are slated to air Wednesday night (Nov. 4) and Timberlake is just one of many talents that will be featured. Stapleton is not his first country duet for Timberlake; he has previously performed with the likes of Garth Brooks and Reba McEntire.

Timberlake announced the news via Twitter and in a photograph of a rehearsal with Stapleton, writing below it, He also referenced the country ties between the two, as Stapleton hails from Nashville and he himself is from Memphis.

Stapleton is himself up for three awards, including New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for debut work Traveller and Male Vocalist of the Year. According to Rolling Stone Country the two had been searching for an opportunity to perform and the CMAs was the perfect one.

"Timberlake is obviously one of the greatest musical talents in the world, maybe ever, that we have. I called him up with no thought of him agreeing to it and he was ready to start planning it right then," Stapleton said. "He was so gracious and kind to want to do it and was so excited about it, and I'm excited about it. It'll be something I've never done before for sure."

The 2015 CMA Awards will be broadcast live from country music capital Nashville on ABC at 8 p.m., EST, on Nov. 4.
