In a new twist in Kesha's legal battle with Sony, her mother, Pebe Sebert, took to Twitter to blast both the record label and producer, Dr. Luke, for her daughter's misfortune. In a long string of tweets, Sebert said that Dr. Luke threatened both Kesha's and her careers if she were ever to take legal action against him for raping her at just 18 years of age.

"This man warned, if she did not do what she was told, he would tie her up in litigations until she was 'too old' to make a record. I was there," she tweeted. "I heard him say this to her, after he told her that she was nothing without him!"

She further tweeted, "Sony supports the rapist. The rapist is doing exactly what he warned he would do. And that is the reason Kesha can not give her sweet ANIMALS new music."

She passionately continued with, "If someone signs a contract to become someone's slave, is slavery then legal? Maybe it's time we STOP SUPPORTING COMPANIES, whose only moral compass is $$? We can change the world by not buying the products sold by unethical companies. Then they change, or go out of business."

As recently as last week (Oct. 30), the pop star's lawyer, Mark Geragos, filed an injunction in order to permit Kesha to record new music without Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald. She is currently under contract with his Kemosabe Records label and remains at a standstill in terms of continuing her musical career. In an effort to extricate her from the contract, Geragos presented a New York area judge with a letter that they'd written Sony. They requested that the singer be able to record new music sans Dr. Luke but it was denied.

NY Magazine reported that in the brief Kesha's lawyer submitted to the judge he wrote, "Kesha now faces an abysmal decision: work with her alleged abuser or passively wait as her career tick-tocks away." Sony also refuses to communicate with the singer as she is suing them as well over claims that they were aware of the producer's behavior and are putting their female artists in danger. Gottwald's camp has repeatedly asserted that Kesha's rape accusations are merely a tactic to get out of her contracts.
