For the past 30 years, People has been making readers drool with their "Sexiest Man Alive" issues. The lists are compiled of some of the hottest male actors in Hollywood, with the exception of a former president's son. The newest member to earn the title of "2015 Sexiest Man Alive" is none other than soccer icon David Beckham. Here are five reasons why we think he's more than deserving of the illustrious label.

The 40-year-old former professional soccer sensation, devoted husband and father of four graces the cover of People's infamous "Sexiest Man Alive" special edition issue. Although the London native is grateful for the honor, Beckham told the magazine he doesn't really see himself as a sex symbol. While he's a lover of fashion and sustains a well-groomed demeanor, Beckham just doesn't think of himself that way.

Well, he might be the only one who feels that way. Check out a few of the many things that make David Beckham sexy below:

1. Have you seen him shirtless?

Let's start with the obvious reason. From his chiseled physique to his tattoo-covered skin, Beckham is definitely something to look at.

2. He's a man of style

Who doesn't love a man in a suit? Beckham's style is a classic mix of debonair fashion and casual street style. Men love their accessories too and Beckham has quite a collection of hats, sneakers and sunglasses.

3. His family is his top priority

Beckham is married to fashion designer and former Spice Girls member, Victoria "Posh" Beckham. Married since 1999, the two are notably one of Hollywood's favorite couples. They have four children together: 16-year-old Brooklyn Joseph, 12-year-old Romeo James, 10-year-old Cruz David, and four-year-old Harper Seven.

4. Philanthropy and activism are his personal hobbies

The Beckhams, including their children, are very involved with organizations that help to create more opportunities for those in need. David is very passionate about UNICEF and in 2005 he became the Goodwill Ambassador with a special focus on UNICEF's Sports for Development Program. His charitable work doesn't stop there. Beckham also supports several AIDS and Malaria foundations and teaches skills to disadvantaged youth.
