Singapore has filed a petition that cites lewd acts in order to bar Adam Lambert from performing as headliner in a New Year's Eve concert. The event planner, MediaCorp, has has already received a petition with 18,000 signatures that cites the American Idol singer as a musician who performs "lewd acts" onstage that oppose "mainstream Singaporean values."

It largely focuses on the singer's actions at the 2009 AMAs and the scenes in the music video for his song "Another Lonely Night," from his new Original High album as major sources to bar him from performing on the holiday. The event is entitled Celebration 2016 and is set to be held at The Float in Marina Bay in Singapore.

The petition, which is now closed, reads, "We urge the organizers of Countdown 2016 to recognize and respect the values of the majority of Singapore that has voiced it's desire to preserve our nation's fiber. Allowing Adam Lambert to perform as the star of Countdown 2016 shows disregard for the values of a majority of family-centric Singaporeans who have consistently resisted the promotion of western liberal ideas about family values and societal models."

According to Billboard, more than 23,000 fans have gathered behind Lambert and filed their own petition to keep him as the headliner at Countdown 2016 citing discrimination against his sexual orientation. MediaCorp has assured fans that the New Year's Eve concert will go forward as planned with Lambert as the headliner.

Lambert also recently announced European tour dates in support of his new album The Original High and he has teased American tour dates on Twitter. The tour will include dates in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Italy and Sweden. Lambert has already been abroad for several months in support of the album and also performed his new single, "Another Lonely Night," on Swedish Idol.
