Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West are in happier spirits after receiving some positive news regarding their unborn son. On Tuesday (Dec. 1), the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took to her personal website to reveal the current condition and position of their baby. According to People, their son is no longer breech thanks to a "painful" procedure.

Remaining completely transparent with fans about the pains and troubles she's faced during her pregnancies, Kardashian finally shared some good news. Just last week she announced her son was incorrectly positioned in her womb, but with the help of doctors, her fears of subjecting the child to a breech birth have been alleviated.

“This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an external cephalic version (ECV), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position,” Kardashian wrote on her website according to People.

Already 37 weeks into her pregnancy, the 35-year-old business woman was given an IV filled with medication to relax her uterus while three doctors collaborated to reposition her son by hand. The procedure was attached with several risks including her water prematurely breaking and the baby's heart rate dropping.

For those unfamiliar with the term, a baby is considered breech when their buttocks or feet are positioned to exit the pelvis first during childbirth, instead of the normal head-first position, according to american pregnancy.org.

If the baby does not turn itself around in the womb before birth, doctors often times perform C-sections in order to secure a healthy delivery. The procedure was the last thing the reality star wanted, admitting to trying different methods to help the baby turn himself naturally.

“They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth,” Kardashian shared. “BUT it worked!!!”

Her hubby and sisters were all at the hospital to support her. Although the stress of having a breech birth is gone, the reality star is now dealing with the flu and a sinus infection.

Kardashian plans on using this time to restore her health and catch up on some quality family time by having a sleepover with her daughter North, nephews Mason Dash and Reign Aston, and her niece Penelope Scotland.
